Feminism isn’t done yet. You’ve just missed the new boat.

There has been much talk in the Twittersphere (where I seem to be spending most of my free time lately) and elsewhere about whether feminism is still relevant. Is it still a thing? Hasn’t it already accomplished everything it set out to do?

I am also constantly being told by the media that ‘young women and girls don’t see themselves as feminists anymore’. Well media, I beg to differ. I think there’s a massive new boat, and lots of us are on it. Waving at you. I just think you may have missed the boat.

You will see what I mean if you watch my new hero, @everydaysexism ‘s Laura Bates talking about feminism on Daily Politics (quick iplayer it while you still can, she’s really good!)

Feminism isn’t done yet. And I am quite excited.
